Beyond funding

Lend your judgment.
Grow the commons.

Experienced professionals help alumni startups with the one thing AI can't give them โ€” good judgment. No funding round, no board seat, no strings.

Why a commons?

Graduated Venture Fund startups lose their support system right when the hard problems start. The funding ends; the questions don't.

Meanwhile, AI keeps getting better at the code, the reporting, the routine work. The thing it still can't replace is judgment โ€” the experienced read on a hard call, the intro that opens a door, the sanity check before a big bet.

Advisory Commons is an open, shared space where experienced professionals lend exactly that to alumni startups. Give an hour or a whole sprint โ€” it's yours to decide. Built as a commons: open, participatory, non-binding, and (we hope) genuinely fun.

The core idea

AI can handle the code, the reporting, the routine work. What early-stage startups actually run out of is judgment.

Which one are you?

Two very different people. Both matter equally here.

Advisor ยท anonymised

A direct, individual alternative to CSR

Apply your expertise toward social impact, on your terms โ€” matched to startups that need exactly what you know.

Join as an advisor

As much or as little as you like โ€” a single review, or a few hours a month. No minimum, no timesheet, no paperwork.

What advisors actually work on

Examples of the kind of challenges groups take on.

Consumer ยท Growth

Diagnose why activation stalled

A subscription app plateaued at 30k users. A group mapped the onboarding funnel and proposed a concrete experiment plan.

Healthtech ยท Regulatory

Chart a path to a wider launch

A remote-monitoring startup needed to move beyond pilot hospitals. Advisors sketched the compliance pathway and key partnerships.

Platform ยท Engineering

Scale data infra without breaking

Ingestion was straining under load. An engineering-heavy group pressure-tested the architecture and a staged rollout.

The impact we're building

Every challenge turns senior expertise into concrete progress for a startup solving a real problem โ€” and gives professionals a meaningful, low-friction way to give back. Impact figures are updated as each cohort runs.

How it works, as an advisor

1

Tell us what you know

Share your expertise, the sectors you know, and what you actually enjoy helping with. Two minutes.

2

Get matched on substance

We place you in a small, multidisciplinary group around a real startup challenge that fits what you know โ€” not a first-come queue.

3

Help on your own cadence

Weigh in async in a shared chat, join a call, or drop a single sharp insight. Your group has ~3 weeks to hand back a recommendation.
